    Abstract: A novel wire module support structure for controlling the spacing and edge wire angle of an electrode wire relative to a donor roll in a scavengeless development process is disclosed. A stationary wire support is arc shaped with a rounded edge and is located in close proximity to the donor roll end. This spatial relationship between the donor roll end and the wire support surface optimizes the donor roll surface to wire relationship. The wire support surface may be at a greater or lesser radius than the the donor roll surface. When the wire support surface is located at a larger radius than the donor roll surface, a clamp assembly is used to control the height of the wires with respect to the donor roll surface.

    Abstract: An apparatus which transfers successive different color toner images from a photoconductive belt to a sheet. The toner images are in superimposed registration with one another. Transfer efficiency of successive toner images is improved by neutralizing the charge on the toner image prior to the transfer of the next successive toner image to the sheet. This is accomplished by passing the sheet with the toner image transferred thereto between upper and lower neutralization corona generators. The upper neutralization corona generator applies a charge on the toner image having an opposite polarity to the normal polarity of the toner image. The lower neutralization corona generator applies a charge on the backside of the sheet having the same polarity as the normal polarity of the toner image.

    Abstract: An apparatus in which particles of at least two different colors are removed from a photoconductor surface. The cleaning system is controlled to remove particles of one color during one cycle of the apparatus and particles of the other color during another cycle of the apparatus. In this way, the particles of different colors are not intermingled with one another. This permits selective particles to be recycled for subsequent use in the printing machine.

    Abstract: An electrophotographic printing machine and method of use therefor in which a plurality of light images of the same original document are formed. Each of the light images is of a different predetermined magnitude and irradiates a charged photoconductive member to record a plurality of electrostatic latent images thereof. The electrostatic latent images are developed with developer mixes having differing predetermined concentrations of toner particles therein. These developed powder images are transferred, in superimposed registration with one another, onto a common sheet of support material forming a high quality reproduction of the original document.
