Abstract:
When a desired field frame is specified on an area of a display in which pages connected in series are displayed in their compressed form, the data in the specified field frame is displayed in a document image display section. When the specified field frame is moved with the use of a previous-page button, a next-page button, a forward-slide button, or a backward-slide button, the data in the moved field frame is displayed in the document image display section. The information concerning the movement of the field frame is transferred to other terminals so that on the white boards of the other terminals, the same processing is performed.
Abstract:
During an electronic conference, an operator is able to have an independent meeting with a number of the participants of the electronic conference. A conference layer and a side conversation layer are provided. When side conversation is to be started, a member to participate in side conversation is selected from members participating in the conference in the conference layer, and the selected member is moved to a member panel. Upon pressing a start button, a side conversation layer is generated and displayed. Side conversation enables selected members to share information independent of the main conference. A layer select button enables to select either of the conference layer or side conversation layer. A layer copy button enables the copying of an image from the conference layer to the side conversation layer.
Abstract:
There is disclosed an apparatus for supervising the status of processing performed in a system to be supervised which comprises: a first processing system having a first knowledge base, a first inference engine for making an inference with reference to the knowledge base and a data processing device for conducting the predetermined data processing in accordance with the inference for the purpose of conducting the predetermined data processing; and a second processing system having a second knowledge base and a second inference engine for making an inference with reference to the second knowledge base for the purpose of aiding the predetermined data processing conducted in the first processing system. The apparatus further comprises instruction device for instructing to determine whether or not the second processing system aids the first processing system for the purpose of aiding the predetermined data processing; and control device for causing the second processing system to execute the data processing device via the first processing system when it has been determined that the second processing system conducts the aid and for causing the first processing system to execute the data processing device when it has been determined that the second processing system does not conduct the aid.
Abstract:
In an image sensing system where a camera apparatus and a client device are connected for controlling the camera apparatus by the client device, the client device displays and arbitrarily shifts a predetermined size of detection area in an object image sensed by the camera apparatus, enabling to quickly perform camera parameter control, such as focus adjustment or the like, based on image signals of the detection area, with a small amount of transferring data. Moreover, detection areas of a sensed image are synthesized by controlling camera parameters for each of the detection areas so as to optimize camera parameters for all of the areas in the object image.
Abstract:
A communication device detects a network device, and determines software to be used by a communication device and the detected device to cooperate with each other. The communication device and the detected device then respectively install the determined software.
Abstract:
Herein provided is a control system capable of efficiently and assuredly performing a remote-control of a plurality of instruments. When the plurality of instruments, which are connected to a network 600 and controllable by a computer, namely a first camera 300 and a second camera 400 as shown in FIG. 1, are remotely and simultaneously controlled, the present system is constituted so that a control right of the second camera 400 acquired by a certain client enables the client to control even the first camera while disenables other clients except for the client which acquires the control right to control both the first camera 300 and second camera 400. Accordingly, it turns unnecessary to individually acquire all of the control rights to control the related instruments, first camera 300 and the second camera 400.

Abstract:
A tracking camera system which permits tracking an object with a plurality of cameras by changing the use of them from one camera over to another and is arranged to be capable of adequately capturing the object of tracking, without missing the object, even after one camera is changed over to another. The tracking object is decided within a display image plane. The attitude of camera in use for tracking is controlled in such a way as to have the tracking object always placed at the center of the display image plane. The tracking camera in use is changed over to another camera when the tracking object on display comes outside of the center part of the image plane, so that the object can be continuously tracked.
Abstract:
This invention allows a user to simultaneously control geometric parameters for a camera and suppresses a deterioration in the image quality of distributed video images while keeping the cost low. The invention includes an image sensing area calculation unit for calculating a minimum image sensing area including required areas from clients, a required video image forming unit for forming required video images by extracting video images of the respective required areas from a video image of the image sensing area which is sensed, and a video image transmission I/F for distributing the formed required video images to the respective clients. Only the minimum area including the respective required areas is sensed, and video images of the respective required areas are cut from the video image and distributed to the respective users, thereby allowing a plurality of users to simultaneously control the camera and obtain video images at desired viewpoints and view angles. In addition, since only one camera is used, the required cost can be kept low, and the electronic zoom magnifications of video images to be distributed can be suppressed low, thereby minimizing a deterioration in the image quality of each required video image.
Abstract:
There is provided a system for imitating distribution and explanation of conference documents in an actual conference so that a conference held in a desktop coferencing system can be made to approximate an actual conference. The system constituted of a transmitting side apparatus and at least one receiving side apparatus includes information management control units for managing the conference documents and information concerning the participants in the conference and controlling the whole system based on the management information, an input unit for inputting the conference documents as data, a transmitting unit and a receiving unit for exchanging data of the conference documents and the management information, a storing unit for storing the data of the conference documents received by the receiving unit, and document display units for displaying the conference documents. In such a system configuration, a conference document displayed in the transmitting side apparatus is transmitted to the receiving side apparatus so that the conference document can be not only stored in the storing unit, but also displayed to the document display unit. Thus, the transmitting side apparatus can distribute any conference document through a network to the receiving side apparatus.
