摘要： A lock mechanism having a cylinder normally held against rotation to an unlocking position by two sets of pin tumblers disposed at opposite sides of the cylinder axis. One set is of the conventional type comprising a number of pin tumblers and drivers therefor actuatable to cylinder releasing positions by the bitting on one edge of a key inserted into a keyway in the cylinder. The other set of tumblers is comprised of a number of magnets arranged in a row lengthwise along the other edge of a key in the keyway, and repelled to cylinder releasing positions by magnet members on the key.

摘要： A pick resistant lock having a housing and a rotatable spindle therewithin, each having a registrable aperture. Interposed between the housing and spindle is a ring that is rotatable relative to said housing a limited distance and has an aperture registrable with said housing and spindle apertures. A tumbler is disposed in said registrable apertures and is biased to a normal position in which said spindle and ring must move together. When the spindle is torqued to pick the lock, the spindle and ring will rotate said limited distance to permit the apertures therein, and the tumbler, to move out of register with said housing aperture and thus prevent the unlocking of the lock. The tumbler is further provided with a chamfered end so that it cannot be felt when the tumbler moves into said housing aperture.

摘要： An electrochemical timer or coulometer comprising an assembly of a solid electrolyte, preferably Ag7I4PO4, a silver electrode and a detector, e.g. gold, electrode, such assembly being positioned in a metal can. By crimping the upper edge of the metal can which contains the electrodes and the electrolyte, and bringing the components of the assembly into contact, while simultaneously applying high pressure to such an assembly, residual pressure is maintained on the assembly after release of such high pressure, and good electrode-electrolyte contact is ensured. This increases the charge capacity and maximum operating current of the device. The efficiency of the coulometer and its charge retention during storage is further improved by a cycling (i.e., charging and discharging) operation.

摘要： A closure for an end of a square cross section tube comprises a base member having sides corresponding to those of the tube and a stem projectable into the end of the tube. A anchor disc is axially immovably connected to the outer end of the stem but can be rotated about the axis thereof. Barb-like fingers on the periphery of the disc allow insertion thereof into the tube end but preclude its withdrawal therefrom. The fingers also prevent rotation of the disc about its axis after it has entered the tube end. During application of the closure to a tube end, the base and stem can be unitarily rotated with respect to the disc to dispose locating elements on the base in position to enter the tube end and cooperate with internal wall surfaces thereof in holding the base member with its sides in coincidence with those of the tube.

摘要： A high security door locking device comprising first and second interdependent lock mechanisms. The first is a permutation lock having decoding means, a latch bolt, and a control shaft which is rotatable in one direction from a normal position to effect projecting of the latch bolt and resetting of the mechanism, and which can be rotated in the opposite direction from normal only after operation of the decoding means in accordance with a prescribed schedule. The second lock mechanism has a cylinder which serves to prevent access to the control shaft and also serves as an actuator therefor when released for rotation by a proper key.
