摘要： A system and method for separating bitumen and condensate extracted from separating bitumen from oil sands material is disclosed. The method includes passing the mixture of bitumen and condensate through a flash evaporator to separate them. In the flash evaporator the mixture is heated at high pressure after which it is sprayed into a tank where the pressure is much lower, allowing the condensate to vaporize and the bitumen to settle to the bottom of the tank. The vapors are then passed through a condenser unit, causing them to cool and liquefy.
