    摘要: An emergency water reservoir apparatus for providing a ready water reserve for extinguishing fires at a location such as a residence includes a water storage tank having an interior reservoir in fluid communication with a water hydrant valve. A water intake conduit in fluid communication with an established water supply and the interior reservoir permits delivery of water into the water tank from the established water supply system. Included at the reservoir end of the water intake conduit is a water intake cut-off device and an anti-siphon valve device. A water pump pumps water from the interior reservoir to the water hydrant valve. An infusion pump device with an infusion reservoir member and an adjustable infusion dispensing device provides infusion chemicals into the water passing from the interior reservoir to the water hydrant valve. An electrical power generator is included to provide backup power to the water pump and the infusion pump device when the location's power supply is cut off. The water hydrant valve has a hose quick fitting device to allow water hoses to be quickly attached to it. The water hoses allow a user to direct water from the water hydrant valve to locations where it is needed.

    摘要: An aluminum base material with a hard facing deposit which shows extremely good hot hardness properties when subjected to high operating temperatures. The invention provides a hard facing deposit which shows a hot hardness of at least 100 BHN at 600.degree. F., and has sufficient toughness to resist the formation of cracks when subjected to such operating temperatures. According to the preferred embodiment, the hard facing deposit includes, by weight, about 6% to about 12% silicon, up to about 6% copper, about 2% to about 6% manganese, up to about 3% iron, and about 16% to about 25% nickel. The invention is particularly useful in forming a heavy duty diesel engine piston with a piston ring groove formed in the hard facing deposit.

    摘要: An intense, space-charge-neutralized, pulsed ion beam is used to heat a magnetically-confined plasma, such as a tokamak plasma, by injecting the ion beam into the plasma along a trajectory that is generally perpendicular to the confining magnetic field. For proper beam parameters, the ion beam will propagate across the magnetic field in the vacuum region, penetrate the confined plasma, and deposit its energy in the interior of the plasma.

    摘要: The dehydrator for gaseous fluids incorporates in its desiccant bed a quantity of color change dew point indicating material. Said indicating material may be distributed at random throughout the desiccant bed, or it may be incorporated as one or more layers or strata. When distributed at random, the color change dew point indicating material furnishes a progressively continuous indication of the moisture content of the desiccant bed, by means of a gradually advancing color line moving toward a terminal indication at which the condition of the desiccant is regarded as spent, or saturated with moisture. The color line is visible through transparent portions of the dehydrator.
