A temperature compensating outdoor wall padding apparatus in one embodiment incorporates a stretch fabric into the edges of a vinyl cover to provide a tension on the vinyl cover minimizing the possibility of wrinkling of the vinyl cover due to a change in temperature. In another embodiment, the temperature compensating outdoor wall padding apparatus may employ a resilient cover, stretchable in 4 directions and pre-tensioned to provide tension on the resilient cover minimizing the possibility of wrinkling of the resilient cover due to a change in temperature. Methods for forming the same are also disclosed.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a pit landing system having integrated drainage positionable on a surface of a ground includes an upper padding section and a lower support section. The lower support section includes a lower water permeable support operable to allow water to permeate through its structure while supporting the padding layer above the surface of the ground. The upper section includes a cover and the lower support section comprises a porous cover. High jumps and pole vaults including the pit landing system are also disclosed. Methods for forming the pit landing system and methods for protecting an athlete are also disclosed.

A take-off board system for a triple or long jump generally includes an elongated frame, an elongated take-off board, and a track material member. The frame includes inwardly-extending flanges defining a chamber therein. The take-off board includes a first portion slidably receivable in the chamber of the frame, and a second portion defining an outer take-off surface. The track material member is disposed on an outer surface of the frame. The take-off board system is disposable in a first position in a cavity in the ground with the outer take-off surface of the take-off board disposed even with a track surface, and the take-off board assembly is disposable in a second position in the cavity in the ground with an outer surface of the track material member disposed even with the track surface.

A method for installing a thrower's circle in the ground of an athletic field includes assembling a form for constructing a thrower's circle dimensioned for a player throwing at least one of a hammer, a shot put, and a discus from a plurality of sections having mounted thereto a plurality of arcuate portions. When the plurality of sections are assembled together, the plurality of arcuate sections together form a full circle, and wherein a portion of the plurality of sections is disposed outside the full circle and a portion of the plurality of sections is disposed inside the full circle. The method further includes excavating the ground, placing the assembled form in the excavated ground, placing cement in the assembled form, and allowing the cement to dry.
