摘要： A sealable casket having a memorabilia compartment comprises a shell and at least one cap pivoted to the shell. The shell and cap have respective confronting flanges. A gasket is disposed between the flanges of the shell and the cap forming a seal therebetween. A memorabilia compartment is formed within the cap and includes an access opening and an interior. A removable cover is positioned over the access opening, and a gasket is disposed between the cover and the cap forming a seal therebetween.

摘要： In an effort at increasing the quality and styling of the casket interior, and in particular the casket cap dish assembly, and in an effort to increase the quality of the memorialization aspect of the casket and memorial service, the present assembly was devised which comprises, in one aspect, a dish assembly for installation into an underside of a casket cap, the assembly comprising a foam dish including an opening therethrough, and a cap panel installed in the opening in the foam dish. In a second aspect, the dish assembly comprises a dish including an opening therethrough and a cap panel removably installed in the opening in the dish, the cap panel being personalized to the deceased and being removable from the dish by a loved one of the deceased subsequent to a memorial service for the deceased and retained by the loved one as a memorial to the deceased.

摘要： A casket comprises a shell including a floor, a pair of side walls and a pair of end walls. A pair of caps are closable upon the shell. At least one of the walls is constructed of at least two panels having adjacent abutting edges forming a joint between the panels. A decorative feature disguises the joint to create the appearance of the two panels being a single panel. Each cap has a crown, a longer dimension and a shorter dimension, and is constructed of a plurality of boards extending parallel to the longer dimension and including a center spine board. The center spine board is fabricated from a single full-length board sawed in two; remaining ones of thee cap crown boards are non-full length boards. The gap between the head and foot end caps when closed in combination with the matching grain of the spine boards creates the appearance of the cap crowns being constructed of full length boards. Also, by utilizing at least one full length board in the cap, current tooling may be used. Methods of manufacturing such a casket are also provided.

摘要： A shipping clip is provided for a casket which has a body or shell with a top ledge including a front edge and a pair of caps pivoted to the body and closable thereon, with each of the pair of caps having a header wall on an end thereof. The header walls are in a confronting relationship one to another when the pair of caps are closed upon the body. The shipping clip spaces the header walls from one another and spaces the caps from the body during shipping of the closed casket. The shipping clip comprises a base which has two side edges and which is adapted to be placed atop the top ledge of the casket body, a first wall extending upwardly from the base intermediate the base side edges, and second and third walls extending upwardly from the base, one of which is located on one side of the first wall and the other of which is located on the other side of the first wall. Each of the second and third walls are spaced from the first wall by an amount which provides for a snug fit of one of the cap header walls between the first and second walls and of the other cap header wall between the first and third walls.
