摘要: Methanol is produced by reacting carbon monoxide and hydrogen in the presence of a Raney copper catalyst containing 80 to 99.9 wt. % of copper in a solvent. The catalysts employed in the present invention showed a much higher activity even under the conditions of a low temperature in methanol production, than any of the known catalysts. The process of the methanol production may eliminate necessity for recycling an unreacted synthesis gas into the reaction system, and makes it feasible to conduct methanol synthesis at a lower pressure than conventional processes.
