Abstract: A material for forming a film for a semiconductor provides a film having excellent heat resistance and solvent resistance. It contains: a compound represented by general formula (I) and having at least one reactive group, or a polymer including, as a monomer, a compound represented by general formula (I) below and having at least one reactive group; and a solvent. In the formula, A represents a hydrocarbon ring having 6 carbon atoms, X1 and X2 each represent an aryl group having 6-30 carbon atoms and optionally substituted by a reactive group or a group having a reactive group. Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a composition that gives a cured product excellent in heat resistance and solvent resistance. The present invention provides a compound represented by the general formula (I) below and having at least one reactive group in a molecule. In the formula, A represents a hydrocarbon ring having 6 carbon atoms; X1 and X2 each represent, for example, an aryl group having 6 to 30 carbon atoms and optionally substituted with a reactive group or a group having a reactive group; R1, R2, R3, R4, R6, R7, R8, and R9 each represent, for example, a hydrogen atom, a reactive group, or a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms and optionally substituted with a reactive group; and R5 and R10 each represent, for example, a hydrogen atom, or a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms and optionally substituted with a reactive group.
