Abstract:
An automatic adaptive controller having a data file previously supplied with various control parameters for a process to be controlled, and detectors for observing the process and disturbances introduced in the process. The data file provides to the process basic operation values, at the beginning of the process. The detectors monitor bits of information which cannot be previously provided from the data file, to automatically detect the characteristics of the process and disturbances so that the process can be controlled under the optimum conditions.
Abstract:
An apparatus for continuously grinding a multiplicity of cylindrical workpieces required to be concentrically ground with reference to their axes. The apparatus comprises an upper elastic feed belt adapted to push downwardly and roll the cylindrical workpieces around their axes on a rolling table and a lower grinding belt adapted to be moved at a high rate of speed so as to grind the rolling surfaces of said cylindrical workpieces.
Abstract:
A method of controlling the actual stock removal in a method of belt grinding wherein the infeed and elasticity of a contact roll serve to increase the contact pressure of the abrasive belt, so as to obtain the required amount of stock removal irrespective of deterioration in the grinding performance of the belt due to repeated use and of the thickness of the workpiece.
