Abstract: A system may overlay real-time data and other data (e.g., measurement data, sensor data, etc.) over image data during a communication session. For example, the system may perform media processing on image data being sent between devices in order to overlay the real-time data and other information received from input devices (e.g., sensors, diagnostic devices, connected health devices, etc.) on top of image data during the communication session. For example, a patient may video conference with a doctor and real-time diagnostic information from a device attached to the patient (e.g., wearable device or other input device) may be overlaid on the video to display relevant information during the video conference.

Abstract: Described are techniques for establishing video communication between devices while reducing delays associated with initialization of a camera system. When a command from a sender device to initiate a communications session with a recipient device is received, the command may include recipient information indicative of the recipient device. Correspondence between the recipient information and sender contact data may be used determine a recipient profile identifier. Prior to providing a communication request to the recipient device, an initialization command may be provided to the recipient device to cause the recipient device to begin initializing a camera system. Providing the initialization command to the recipient device responsive to the command from the sender device, in advance of the communication request, enables the communications session to be initiated more rapidly than if the recipient device began to initialize the camera system responsive to the communication request.

Abstract: Described are techniques for establishing communications sessions between devices. A command from a sender device to initiate a communications session with a recipient device may include information indicative of a recipient user profile. Correspondence between recipient information and sender contact data may be used to determine the recipient user profile. Prior to providing a communication request to the recipient device, recipient contact data may be determined using the recipient user profile. Correspondence between the sender user profile and the recipient contact data may be used to determine sender information indicative of the sender. This information may be provided to the recipient device in advance of the communication request to enable more rapid acceptance of the communication request and eliminate the delay that would be incurred if the recipient device determined the sender information responsive to the communication request.
