Abstract:
A coaxial connector junction includes first and second coaxial connectors. The first coaxial connector includes: a first central conductor extension; a first outer conductor extension spaced apart from and circumferentially surrounding the first central conductor extension; and a first dielectric spacer interposed between the first central conductor extension and the first outer conductor extension. The second coaxial connector includes: a second central conductor extension; a second outer conductor extension spaced apart from and circumferentially surrounding the second central conductor extension; and a second dielectric spacer interposed between the second central conductor extension and the second outer conductor extension. Each of the central conductor extensions and the outer conductor extensions has circular symmetry about the longitudinal axis, such that electrical properties of the engaged first and second coaxial connectors are substantially the same irrespective of the relative orientations of the first and second coaxial connectors about the longitudinal axis.
Abstract:
A connector with a capacitively coupled connector interface for interconnection with a female portion is provided with an annular groove, with a sidewall, open to an interface end of the female portion. A male portion is provided with a male outer conductor coupling surface at an interface end, covered by an outer conductor dielectric spacer. The male portion is retained with a range of radial movement, with respect to a longitudinal axis of the male portion, by a bias web of a float plate. The male outer conductor coupling surface is dimensioned to seat, spaced apart from the sidewall by the outer conductor dielectric spacer, within the annular groove, when the male portion and the female portion are in an interlocked position.
Abstract:
A float plate for a connector interface includes: at least one substantially planar body panel; at least one opening in the body panel, the opening having a perimeter; and a plurality of fingers extending from the perimeter of the opening within a plane defined by the body panel, each finger extending from the perimeter at an oblique angle to a diameter of the opening originating at a fixed end of the finger.
Abstract:
A connector with a capacitively coupled connector interface for interconnection with a mating portion with a sidewall. A connector body has an outer conductor coupling surface at an interface end, covered by an outer conductor dielectric spacer. The outer conductor coupling surface is dimensioned to seat, spaced apart from the sidewall by the outer conductor dielectric spacer, when the connector body and the mating portion are in an interlocked position. A releasable retainer may be provided, the releasable retainer dimensioned to secure the connector body and the mating portion in the interlocked position.
Abstract:
A coaxial connector junction includes first and second coaxial connectors. The first coaxial connector engages the second coaxial connector, the post of the first central conductor extension being inserted into the cavity of the second central conductor extension such that a capacitive element is created between the first and second central conductor extensions by a gap between the first central conductor extension and the second central conductor extension.
Abstract:
A strain relief for a coaxial cable and coaxial connector interconnection is provided as an injection moldable polymer material surrounding the interconnection. The injection moldable material fills a solder pre-form cavity between an outer conductor of the coaxial cable and an inner diameter of a bore of the connector body, strengthening and environmentally sealing the interconnection. Where the outer conductor is corrugated, the polymer material may be provided covering an exposed portion of the corrugations and/or filling portions of a corrugation trough between an outer jacket and the outer diameter of the outer conductor.
