Abstract: A subatomic particle detector having a large number of equally spaced anode conductors arranged in a single plane opposite and parallel to a large cathode plate with the space between the anode conductors and cathode plate filled with liquid argon. A phototransistor is connected to each conductor for automatic readout of the detector by means of a laser beam that is scanned over each phototransistor.
