    摘要: In an electrophoretic reproduction process wherein a colored reproduction of an original is obtained by sequentially electrophoretically generating at least two visible monochromatic images, and superimposing said images in registry upon a copy web to form a colored reproduction, an improvement is provided comprising essentially eliminating back migration of marking materials from the copy web to the imaging suspension in the second and subsequent image generating steps by employing, in each instance, marking materials comprising a solvent tackifiable polymer and a colorant and/or a copy web containing a solvent tackifiable polymer, and applying to the copy web at least a partial solvent for said tackifiable polymer in an amount sufficient to render said polymer at least partially tacky before the second and before each subsequent image generating step.

    摘要: A low cost, paper feeder for large copy sheets includes a media chamber mounted to support copy sheets in a substantially vertical plane. A two-position, T-shaped feeder mechanism including a pair of one-way clutch controlled feed rolls is slidably mounted on a rail for contacting the media. A foot pedal is connected to the feeder mechanism such that when movement of the foot pedal is initiated, the feeder mechanism is moved in a first direction to a position contacting the copy sheets and with continued movement of the foot pedal, a top sheet of the copy sheets is moved by the feeder mechanism out of the tray in a second direction a predetermined amount to a copier wait station, and with return of the foot pedal to its initial position, the feed mechanism is caused to retract from the surface copy sheets in a third direction to its initial position.

    摘要: A device that addresses the problem of substrate distortion created by a fuser nip being transmitted back to a transfer nip includes a post transfer corrugator that introduces a non-image side protrusion in the substrate path between the transfer zone and the fuser zone. The post transfer corrugator forces the substrate to flatten out any distortion caused by the fuser/nip and prevents this distortion from entering the transfer zone. The corrugator also supports the substrate so as to increase the wrap angle of the substrate around an electrostatic member.

    摘要: A process for preparing a mold for relief printing masters, said mold having an adhesive silicone surface, is provided comprising depositing a particulate material in image configuration on a suitable substrate, contacting said substrate with a second member comprising a substrate with an adhesive coating of a silicone gum curable to an adhesive elastomeric condition such that the adhesive gum is in contact with the image material, separating the members whereby the silicone layer splits in the nonimaged areas and is prevented from splitting by the transfer of the particulate image material to the second member in the image areas, and curing the silicone gum on the first member to an adhesive elastomeric condition to provide a mold for printing masters. The process for preparing the printing master comprises the additional steps of filling the submerged portions of said mold with a liquid but hardenable material suitable for master imaging, contacting said liquid with a suitable master substrate, hardening the liquid material and removing the resultant printing master.
