摘要： Methods and apparatus for sampling usage information from a pool of terminals in a data network. A method is provided to perform usage tracking in a data network. The method includes determining a targeted set of terminals from a pool of terminals on the data network, and transmitting tracking parameters to the pool of terminals. The method also includes receiving tracking data from the targeted set of terminals, and mapping the identities of the targeted set of terminals to device log identifiers. The method also includes associating the device log identifiers with the tracking data.

The wireless device selects media content to receive based on a resident user profile, locally constructed based on passive user data, active user data and user inference data drawn from the passive and active user data. Additionally, aspects provide for grouping of the media content prior to distribution, including communicating groups of related data in unison to limit the number of times that a wireless device needs to tune-in and/or wake-up to receive the media content, thereby reducing power consumption.

A device includes transceiver logic to receive usage tracking and reporting parameters, wherein the usage tracking parameters identify events to be tracked and the reporting parameters identify reporting criteria for each event, scheduling logic to track the events based on the usage tracking parameters to produce a tracking log, reporting logic to process the tracking log based on the reporting parameters to produce a reporting log, and the transceiver logic to transmit the reporting log. A server includes processing logic to generate usage tracking parameters that identify events to be tracked and reporting parameters that identify reporting criteria for each event and a transceiver to transmit the usage tracking parameters and the reporting parameters to one or more terminals.

摘要： Implementations relate to methods and apparatus for the aggregation of guide and frequency map information for multiple frequency networks (MFNs) using an upper-level single frequency network (SFN). A mobile device can provide a program guide displaying a listing of content scheduled for broadcast by a content server. An upper network can be in hierarchical coverage with at least two networks, and can receive at least one of guide and frequency data associated with the program guide from the at least two networks. The upper network can aggregate the at least one of guide and frequency data into aggregated guide and frequency data. The aggregated data can be distributed to the at least two networks and/or accessed from the upper network. The mobile device can receive the aggregated data from either the at least two networks or the upper network.
