Abstract: A connector assembly includes a connector housing defining a terminal cavity within, the terminal cavity having a first primary locking feature configured to retain a first terminal having a first retaining feature within the terminal cavity. The connector assembly also includes a second terminal having a second retaining feature that is configured to interface with a corresponding second primary locking feature that is of a different design than the first primary locking feature. The connector assembly further includes an adapter having a first attachment feature configured to engage with the second retaining feature of the second terminal to attach the second terminal to the adapter and having a second attachment feature configured to engage with the first primary locking feature of the terminal cavity to attach the adapter to the connector housing. A method of assembling a connector assembly is also presented.
