摘要: Inductive charging systems and methods detect a wireless device upon a charging surface of a wireless charging pad including a transmitter coil, determine a first quality factor of the transmitter coil and initiate a charging session, and during the charging session, periodically perform a foreign object detection (FOD) technique including adjusting an operating point of the transmitter coil according to a specific sequence of operating points that causes rectifier diodes between the receiver coil and a receiver load of the wireless device to be reverse biased to disconnect the receiver load from the receiver coil and then determining a second quality factor of the transmitter coil, and detecting whether a foreign object is present on the charging surface based on a comparison between the first and second quality factors.

摘要: Inductive charging techniques utilize a plurality of transmitter coils arranged in a predetermined configuration and each being configured to, when active, inductively transfer power to a receiver coil of a wireless device and a controller configured to control a charging session during which power is inductively transferred from at least one of the plurality of transmitter coils to the receiver coil of the wireless device, including monitoring electrical parameters of at least two transmitter coils of the plurality of transmitter coils, wherein the at least two monitored transmitter coils comprise at least one active transmitter coil, based on the monitoring, determining a position of the receiver coil relative to the plurality of transmitter coils, and selectively activating and/or deactivating at least one of the plurality of transmitter coils based on the monitoring when the position of the receiver coil changes to provide uninterrupted inductive power transfer.

摘要: A wireless charging device includes a main housing having a first end and a second end and a channel extending between the first end and the second end, a wireless charging coil located within the main housing separately from the channel, and a top housing located adjacent to the main housing and having a top surface and a bottom surface. The top surface is configured to receive a device to be charged, and the bottom surface is directly exposed to the channel, wherein the top housing is comprised of a thermally conductive and electrically insulative material, and wherein the channel is configured to guide airflow along the bottom surface of the top housing to dissipate heat within the wireless charging device.

摘要: An electronics module is configured to provide power to one of a plurality of different types of coil modules utilized for wireless charging. The electronics module includes an input power interface configured to receive direct current (DC) power, a DC-to-AC converter circuitry configured to convert the DC power to alternating current (AC) power, and an output power interface having a first set of output pins and at least a second set of output pins configured to interface with each of the plurality of different types of coil modules, wherein AC power is selectively provided to the first set of output pins, or both the first and second set of output pins based on a type of coil module connected to the electronics module.
