    摘要： A shuttle apparatus for a printer having a print shuttle unit driven to reciprocate. The print shuttle unit includes a print shuttle provided with a print head and movable along a guide device. A row of permanent magnets are attached to the print shuttle, and a row of electromagnetic coils are secured to a stationary member so as to face the permanent magnets across a gap. The coils and the permanent magnets constitute a linear motor for reciprocating the print shuttle unit along the guide device. A balance shuttle unit having approximately the same weight as that of the print shuttle unit is disposed so that the center of gravity of the balance shuttle unit travels on a line approximately the same as the line of travel of the center of gravity of the print shuttle unit. The balance shuttle unit is driven to reciprocate in linked relation to the print shuttle unit in parallel but reverse in direction to the print shuttle unit.

    摘要： A printing head provided in a wire-dot printer includes a plurality of first wire pins arranged in accordance with a predetermined rule, ends of the first wire pins facing a printing plane, a first driving mechanism for reciprocating the first wire pins in directions approximately perpendicular to the printing plane, a plurality of second wire pins longer than the first wire pins, ends of the second wire pins facing the printing plane, and a second driving mechanism for reciprocating the second wire pins in the same directions as the first wire pins, wherein the first and second driving mechanisms are arranged along a direction approximately perpendicular to the printing plane under a condition in which the first driving mechanism is positioned nearer the printing plane than the second driving mechanism.

    摘要： Disclosed is a shuttle mechanism of a dot line printer including a printing shuttle unit making a reciprocating motion to perform dot printing and a balance shuttle unit making a motion in a direction opposite to the kinetic motion of the printing shuttle unit. This shuttle mechanism is constructed of a linear motor in which a movable unit for the reciprocating motion and a magnetic circuit are separated. With this construction, the movable unit can be decreased in weight. Therefore, the high-speed reciprocating motion can be made, and high-speed printing is thereby attainable. The balance shuttle unit is disposed under the printing shuttle unit. The apparatus can be thereby made compact.
