Abstract: Process for making a compound represented by formula (3), comprising the following steps: a) reacting an azide compound with a compound represented by formula (1) to yield compound (2), compound (2) being a compound represented by formula (2) or its salts, b) methylating compound (2) obtained in step a) using a methylating agent to obtain compound (3), wherein R1 denotes a hydrocarbon rest, and wherein in step a) a solvent system A and in step b) a solvent system B is used, wherein both solvent systems A and B comprise one dipolar aprotic solvent or a mixture of dipolar aprotic solvents as the main component, and wherein steps a) and b) are carried without isolating the compound (2) obtained in step a).
