    Abstract: A process for the preparation of trans-polyalkenamers by the polymerisation of cycloolefines in solutions of hydrocarbons with the aid of organometallic mixed catalysts of tungsten compounds, organo aluminium compounds and optionally co-catalysts, wherein polymerisation is carried out in the presence of hydrogen chloride, the molar ratio of hydrogen chloride to tungsten being from 0.1:1 and 10:1.
