Abstract: A mounting arrangement may include a tray portion configured to couple with a fiber optic cassette and a rack portion structurally configured to receive the tray portion. The rack portion may include a holding portion structurally configured to hold the tray portion, the holding portion may include a receiving portion structurally configured to slidingly receive the tray portion, and the holding portion may include a locking portion configured to fix the tray portion at a predetermined position relative to the holding portion. The tray portion may include a surface portion that includes an attachment portion structurally configured to couple with a fiber optic cassette such that a fiber optic port portion of the fiber optic cassette faces in a direction of a side surface portion of the tray portion that is perpendicular to the surface portion. The holding portion may be configured to alternatively receive the tray portion in a first orientation wherein the side surface portion of the tray portion faces in a first direction toward the holding portion and in a second orientation wherein the side surface portion of the tray portion faces in a second direction, opposite to the first direction, toward the holding portion so as to enhance mounting of a fiber optic cassette.

Abstract: A fiber optic cassette may include a cable portion including an arrangement of optical fibers and a substrate portion configured to support the arrangement of optical fibers, and a body portion configured to receive the cable portion. The optical fibers may each include a first fiber end portion that is configured to stand free of the substrate and a second fiber end portion that is configured to stand free of a second end of the substrate opposite the first substrate end. The first fiber end portion may be configured to be at least partially covered by a protective portion and the second fiber end portion may be configured to be at least partially covered by a cover portion. A substrate facing protective portion of the protective portion may be configured to be at least partially surrounded by the substrate portion, a substrate facing cover portion of the cover portion may be configured to be at least partially surrounded by the substrate portion, and a middle fiber portion of each of the optical fibers may be configured to extend from the first fiber end portion to the substrate facing cover portion of the cover portion that is at least partially surrounded by the substrate portion such that the cassette is configured to provide enhanced protection of at least one of the arrangement of optical fibers.
