Abstract: A stored energy gyro wherein pressurized air is contained in a chamber surrounded by the gyro rotor. Rotor speed is obtained by rupturing a pressure seal in the chamber, with the escaping gas being directed through vanes in the rotor for providing the necessary spin force.
