Abstract: A thrust bearing arrangement is disclosed for a grinder wheelhead of the type that is rotatably mounted on a fixed central shaft, and comprises locating the thrust surfaces on a separate portion of the housing proximate the grinding wheel rather than on the fixed central shaft in order to minimize errors due to thermal expansion of the fixed central shaft.
