摘要: A development device includes a layer thickness regulating blade including a support sheet metal, a blade rubber section, and a side edge seal, the support sheet metal having a first end portion, a second end portion, and a center portion between the first end portion and the second end portion, in an axial direction of a development roller. In a width direction of the support sheet metal, the first end portion of the support sheet metal in the axial direction is shorter than the center portion of the support sheet metal in the axial direction. In the width direction, a distal-end edge of the first end portion of the support sheet metal is closer to a base end portion of the support sheet metal than a distal-end edge of the blade rubber section.

摘要: An image forming apparatus executes charging, exposure, toner-supply suspension, and electric-field generation while a photosensitive member rotates at least a full turn. In the charging, a charger charges a portion of a circumferential surface of the photosensitive member. In the exposure, an exposure device exposes the portion, which has been charged in the charging, of the circumferential surface. In the toner-supply suspension, before the portion, which has been exposed in the exposure, of the circumferential surface passes a position at which developer from a developing unit is configured to initially adhere to the circumferential surface, a developing unit stops supplying developer to the photosensitive member. In the electric-field generation, an electric field is generated in a portion of the photosensitive layer of the photosensitive member corresponding to the portion, which has been exposed in the second exposure, of the circumferential surface.

摘要: A developing cartridge includes: a casing, a developing roller, a first agitator, a supply roller, and a second agitator. The casing is configured to accommodate toner. The developing roller is rotatable about a developing roller rotation axis extending in a first direction. The first agitator is configured to agitate the toner. The first agitator is rotatable about a first agitator rotation axis extending in the first direction. The supply roller is positioned between the first agitator and the developing roller. The supply roller is rotatable about a supply roller rotation axis extending in the first direction. The second agitator is positioned between the supply roller and the first agitator. The second agitator is rotatable about a second agitator rotation axis extending in the first direction. A rotation locus of the second agitator is positioned outside of a rotation locus of the first agitator.

摘要: A cleaning roller includes a shaft and an elastic body. The shaft extends in an axial direction where a center axis of the shaft extends. The shaft defines a radial direction and has a circumferential surface. The elastic body is helically wound about the shaft and defines a helical direction. The elastic body has a widthwise dimension in a widthwise direction orthogonal to the helical direction and to the radial direction. The elastic body has a base end portion extending in the helical direction and a distal end portion extending in the helical direction. The base end portion is in contact with the circumferential surface and fixed thereto. The distal end portion has a sharp edge and is positioned farthest from the circumferential surface in the radial direction. The widthwise dimension is gradually reduced from the base end portion to the distal end portion in the radial direction.

摘要: An image forming apparatus executes reverse charging, toner-supply suspension, second exposure, and second charging, while a photosensitive member rotates at least a full turn. In the reverse charging, a charger charges a portion of a circumferential surface of the photosensitive member to a specified polarity. In the toner-supply suspension, before the portion, which has been charged to the second polarity in the reverse charging, of the circumferential surface of the photosensitive member passes a position at which the developer from the developing unit is configured to initially adhered to the circumferential surface, a developing unit stops supplying developer to the circumferential surface. In the second exposure, an exposure device exposes the portion, which has been charged to the specified polarity in the reverse charging, of the circumferential surface. In the second charging the charger charges the portion, which has been exposed in the second exposure, of the circumferential surface.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a main housing, a process unit, and a fixing device including a lever. The main housing comprises an interlock switch that allows power to be supplied to a heater of the fixing device in an on-state and shuts off power to the heater in an off-state. The lever includes a holding portion and a switch contacting portion contactable with the interlock switch. In a case where the fixing device is installed in the main housing and the lever is located at a first position, the switch contacting portion is in contact with the interlock switch to set the interlock switch to the on-state. In a case where the fixing device is installed in the main housing and the lever is located at a second position, the switch contacting portion is separated from the interlock switch to set the interlock switch to the off-state.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a photoconductive drum, a developing roller, a humidity sensor configured to detect a humidity, and a controller configured to execute a single-side printing, a first-double-side printing and a second double-side printing. The controller is configured to execute the first double-side printing in which images are printed at a first developing-bias voltage on both the first surface and the second surface of the sheet when the humidity detected by the humidity sensor is greater than a threshold value. The controller is configured to execute the second double-side printing in which an image is printed at a second developing-bias voltage, which is less than the first developing-bias voltage, on the second surface of the sheet when the humidity detected by the humidity sensor is equal to or less than the threshold value.
