摘要: A method and device for protecting an adjacent rupturable component including positioning a sheet of puncture resistant, flexible material including one or more openings at or about the structure opening wherein the one or more openings accommodate the rupturable component; permanently or semi-permanently attaching the sheet to the structure at a first portion of an area of the sheet; and positioning the rupturable component through the one or more openings, such that one or more portions of the rupturable component near the one or more openings are protected by the sheet if the structure becomes frayed; wherein the sheet prevents damage to the rupturable component if the structure frays or fractures at or about the structure opening.

摘要: A breakaway cover for providing emergency access to a release mechanism for a life raft on a vehicle includes a housing configured to be attached the vehicle. The housing includes a recess wherein the release mechanism may be located. The recess is protected by a cover. The cover has a first end attached the housing and a second end retained to the housing but capable of being pulled free. The cover is configured to fracture along a series of slots proximate the first end when pulled by a user.

摘要: An aircraft fuel system includes one or more fuel cells adapted to contain fuel, a fuel cell receiving assembly having an inner surface adapted to receive the one or more fuel cells and a fuel cell cushion disposed between the inner surface of the fuel cell receiving assembly and the one or more fuel cells. The fuel cell cushion is machined from a foam substrate to form a shaped foam substrate that is substantially covered with a cushion coating. The cushion coating is sprayable onto the shaped foam substrate such that the fuel cell cushion is substantially nonabsorbent of fuel. The fuel cell cushion is interposable between the inner surface of the fuel cell receiving assembly and the one or more fuel cells to cushion the one or more fuel cells from damage.

摘要: In some examples, an apparatus comprises a surface and at least one flange extending from the surface. The fitting is operable to rotate from a first angular position to a second angular position based on contact between the at least one flange and a fastener and a torque applied to the fastener. In the first angular position, a gap separates the at least one flange from a barrier. In the second angular position, the at least one flange prevents rotation of the fastener based on contact between the barrier and the at least one flange.
