Abstract: The disclosed method relates to an approach of monitoring validity of a patient registration, wherein a contour of a rigid anatomical structure is initially determined in three-dimensional space, and its spatial position is constantly checked afterwards so as to detect a possible spatial deviation of the contour which may indicate an invalidated patient registration.
