Abstract: An antenna is formed from a metal sheet partitioned by a slot. A corner of the metal sheet is short-circuited, and a field is coupled to the antenna near to the short circuit corner. The slot extends from a point near the field, across the metal sheet to an opposite corner to the short circuit corner. The metal sheet may be supported over air, or by a solid dielectric substrate.
