Abstract: An electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectrometer includes a magnet system comprising at least one magnet and at least one pole piece for producing a magnetic field along a pole axis in a field of view in front of the at least one pole piece. A probe head comprising a microwave resonator and at least one modulation coil or rapid scan coil produces an additional, time-varying magnetic field aligned along the pole axis. The probe head is arranged in the field of view, and a respective modulation coil or rapid scan coil is arranged between the microwave resonator and a respective pole piece. For each pole piece, at least a part of said pole piece is made of a function material having an electric conductivity σf of 104 S/m or less, and having a saturation magnetic flux density BSf of 0.2 T or more.

Abstract: An adjustment apparatus for adjusting the angular tilt of a first component of a magnetic circuit relative to an alignment axis of a second component of the circuit uses at least one pair of spacers each of which has a thickness that changes continuously around its periphery. The spacers are arranged between the circuit components and, as a relative rotation between the spacers is changed, the combined thickness of the two spacers increases in one area, while decreasing in another. This results in a tilting of a top surface of the spacer pair relative to a bottom surface, and a corresponding change in a relative tilt of the first component relative to the second component. The spacers may be ring-shaped or disc-shaped, and allow for precise alignment of the magnetic circuit without the need for shims between the components.

Abstract: A magnetic resonance arrangement with a permanent magnet system and having magnet elements, pole piece elements and yoke elements of magnetic material arranged cylinder-symmetrically with respect to the z axis. The yoke elements have a first lid (11′) and a second lid (11″) and also a hollow cylindrical drum (12) arranged axially between the lids.
