Abstract: An information processing apparatus that is capable of accessing to a destination file even when a file including effective entity data and link information to the destination file is transmitted to an external apparatus. An obtaining unit obtains a destination file when a designated file to be transmitted contains link information to the destination file that is different from the designated file. An edition unit edits the link information contained in the designated file so as to become valid link information to the destination file even when the destination file obtained by the obtaining unit and the designated file will be transmitted to an external apparatus. A transmission unit transmits the designated file containing the link information edited by the edition unit and the destination file to the external apparatus.
