    Abstract: An information processing apparatus according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention acquires a file from a file generation apparatus and also acquires address book information including a facsimile number from an apparatus having a facsimile function. Then, the information processing apparatus extracts a character string from a predetermined position in a file name of the acquired file and collates the extracted character string with the acquired address book information to identify a facsimile number of a transmission destination of the acquired file.

    Abstract: An information processing apparatus capable of instructing a facsimile transmission by controlling a device capable of transmission and receiving of a facsimile, and a method of controlling the apparatus are provided.
