Abstract: A medical processing apparatus includes processing circuitry. Based on a first number of X-ray datasets that correspond to the first number of energies and that are acquired by scanning a subject with X-rays, the processing circuitry generates a second number of virtual monochromatic X-ray datasets, which is a number larger than the first number. Based on the second number of virtual monochromatic X-ray datasets, the processing circuitry estimates quantities of the second number of reference materials mixed or a mixing ratio between the second number of reference materials for each of multiple positions in the subject.

Abstract: An X-ray CT system includes an X-ray tube, an X-ray detector and processing circuitry. The processing circuitry is configured to cyclically change energy of the X-rays during one rotation of the X-ray tube around a subject. The processing circuitry is configured to perform a process including a correcting process addressing a difference in a transmission amount between X-rays having first energy and X-rays having second energy, on at least one selected from between: a plurality of first projection data sets acquired when the X-rays having the first energy were radiated; and a plurality of second projection data sets acquired when the X-rays having the second energy were radiated. The processing circuitry is configured to reconstruct an image on the basis of a combined data set generated on the basis of a plurality of projection data sets including the projection data sets resulting from the process.

Abstract: A medical image processing method includes obtaining a first set of projection data by performing, with a first CT apparatus including a first detector with a first pixel size, a first CT scan of an object in a first imaging region of the first detector; obtaining a first CT image with a first resolution by reconstructing the first set of projection data; obtaining a processed CT image with a resolution higher than the first resolution by applying a machine-learning model for resolution enhancement to the first CT image; and displaying the processed CT image or outputting the processed CT image for analysis. The machine-learning model is obtained by training using a second CT image based on a second set of projection data acquired by a second CT scan of the object in a second imaging region with a second CT apparatus including a second detector with a second pixel size.

Abstract: An X-ray CT system according to an embodiment includes processing circuitry configured to: execute first scanning of acquiring a first subject data set corresponding to first X-ray energy by irradiating a first region of a subject with X-rays; execute, after the first scanning, second scanning of acquiring a second subject data set corresponding to second X-ray energy and a third subject data set corresponding to third X-ray energy different from the second X-ray energy by irradiating a second region included in the first region with X-rays; and perform material decomposition among a plurality of reference materials based on: a fourth subject data set obtained based on the first subject data set and one of the second subject data set and the third subject data set; and the other of the second subject data set and the third subject data set.
