Abstract: A mining machine includes front and rear sections connected together for pivotal movement about a vertical axis. The front section is made up of a unitary frame which includes a lower frame portion, upwardly extending legs, and a roof portion. The roof portion defines an opening, and a door is associated therewith to selectively block and unblock such opening. A power unit is associated with the rear section, and is easily detachable therefrom.
