Abstract: Polymeric superporous hydrogels, methods for making the same, and wound dressings incorporating the same are disclosed herein. The polymeric superporous hydrogels may be PVA-based hydrogel foams. The polymeric superporous hydrogels may exhibit intrinsic antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria. The polymeric superporous hydrogels may be well suited for incorporation into wound dressings or the like.
