    Abstract: An organic light emitting device which emits white light in use, comprising a reflective anode (3), a first light emitting layer (9) which emits red light located over said anode, a second light emitting layer (11) which emits blue light and green light located over said first light emitting layer, and a cathode structure located over said second light emitting layer comprising a first semi-reflecting layer (15) and a second semi-reflecting layer (21) with a layer (19) of light transmissive material between the first and second semi-reflecting semi-transparent layers, the distance between the reflective anode (3) and the first semi-reflecting semi-transparent layer (17) being selected to form a micro-cavity which enhances blue light emission and red light emission from the device, and the distance between the reflective anode (3) and the second semi-reflecting semi-transparent layer (21) being selected to enhance green light emission from the device.

    Abstract: A method of forming an organic light-emitting device comprising an anode, a cathode and at least one light-emitting layer between the anode and the cathode, the method comprising the steps of: providing an anode layer supported on a surface of the substrate, wherein the anode layer comprises indium tin oxide formed by sputtering indium-tin oxide onto the substrate surface at a substrate surface temperature of less than 100° C., applying the at least one light-emitting layer and the cathode over the anode layer, and applying a hole injection layer that is located in the organic light-emitting device between the anode layer and the light-emitting layer and in contact with the anode layer. The hole-injection layer comprises a conductive polymer, comprising substituted or unsubstituted thiophene repeat units, and a non-conductive material.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a cathode layer stack used for semi-transparent organic photovoltaic devices with improved transmission of light in the visible wavelength range and excellent photovoltaic response. The cathode layer stack comprises an organic buffer layer (14b) deposited over a semi-transparent metal cathode (14c) and a silicon dioxide (SiO2) layer (14a) provided over the organic buffer layer (14b), wherein the refractive index of the silicon dioxide layer is lower than the refractive index of the buffer layer, and wherein the thickness of the silicon dioxide layer is less than 100 nm. In further embodiments, methods of manufacturing the cathode layer stack, organic photovoltaic devices comprising said cathode layer stack and uses thereof are described.
