Abstract: An energy storage system includes: a housing in which a plurality of battery cells are arranged. The battery cells are separated from each other by a device disposed between the battery cells. The device includes at least two layers. A first layer of the at least two layers forms a compression layer and a second layer of the at least two layers forms an insulating layer.
