According to the invention, the device (2) is designed to carry out preparation operation, in which the food held in the vessel can be prepared by means of the steam supply unit (62) so as to be ready for consumption, and to carry out a rinsing operation, in which the preparation chamber (4) can be cleaned by means of the condensate supply unit (60).
