Abstract:
The invention provides a hand-held electric device and a method for protecting the main circuit of the device. The device includes a housing, a main circuit installed within the housing, a protection circuit installed within the housing, and a battery detachably attached to the housing. When the battery is attached to the housing, the battery electrically connects with the main circuit to form a loop, so as to provide electric power for operations of the main circuit. The protection circuit includes a protection controller and a control switch installed in the loop. When the protection controller detects an abnormal voltage or current, the protection controller transmits a protection control signal to the control switch to cut off the loop, so as to protect the main circuit from being damaged by the abnormal voltage or current.
Abstract:
An energy status indicator for a portable device includes an alert device, an activation sensor, an energy status indicator, an alert triggering device and an alert database that includes alert data. The activation sensor is for detecting if the portable device is activated and the energy status indicator is used for determining a level of remaining energy in an energy storage. The alert triggering device includes coded program which is for outputting alert data corresponding to the level of remaining energy through the alert device, after the portable device's activation. The energy status indicator gives a user control over when the energy status is to be output and also to the type of alert that is to be output (e.g. sound, vibration, etc.). Additionally, it allows the user to determine the energy status when visual inspection of the portable device is not possible.
Abstract:
A first port and cable having a first power line and a first data line connects to a host computer, a second port and cable having a second data line connects to a data port of a mobile device, and a third port and cable with a third power line connects to power port of the mobile device. The first data line and second data line are connected through a data converter installed in a housing for converting first format data on the first data line to second format data on the second data line. The first port can be integral with the housing, omitting the first cable. The second cable and third cable can be removable from the housing via connectors to facilitate customizability.
