摘要： Described is a multi-optic scanner that can detect and/or measure weight placed on its vertical plate. In one embodiment, a portion of the vertical plate is positioned under a portion of a horizontal plate so that a force exerted on the vertical plate is transferred, whole or in part, to the horizontal plate. In alternate embodiments, one or more sensors are coupled to the vertical plate for detecting a force on the plate. The sensors can be coupled to an alert, such as an audible signal, to warn an operator of a misread weight.

摘要： A power pack with human interface devices that includes a power pack housing, which is detachably interfaced to a portable device. The power pack includes a power source internal to the housing for providing power, a light source internal to the housing for producing a light signal associated with a status, which light signal is viewable external to the housing, and an audio source internal to the housing for producing an audio signal associated with the status. The power pack interfaces electrically to the portable device to provide power thereto, and receive therefrom control signals associated with the status, which control signals activate at least one of the light source and audio source according to the status.

摘要： An optical scan module, for example for an optical scanner, includes an integrally molded plastics material member which defines not only the laser focusing lens, but also the laser focusing aperture and the collection mirror. In addition, the molded member may act to house and to locate both a semiconductor laser and a photodetector, thereby ensuring easy and accurate placement of those elements within the scanning assembly. The optical assembly may be in modular form, mounted onto a common printed circuit board with a beam scanner.

摘要： A system for reading optical codes, and more particularly to code reading systems with sound signal generators, modules a sound detector detects an ambient sound level in a vicinity of the system operator and the volume of the audible indicator is controlled in response to the detected ambient sound level. The sound may be produced by a transducer located in a raised rail adjacent the system operator. Various kinds of audio signals may be produced, for example, to distinguish the system's response from those of nearby optical code reading systems or to identify the kind of optical code symbology being read or its informational content.

摘要： A portable, stand-alone compact optical scanning apparatus includes a housing member in which is mounted a printed circuit board, a semicircular mirror member mounted on the printed circuit board having a cone shaped edge portion, a light emitting element mounted on the mirror member for projecting scanning light beams within the housing member, a multifaceted rotating spinner mounted on said printed circuit board extending through said mirror member for directing the light beams at a plurality of pattern forming mirror members which reflect the light beams at the edge portion of the mirror member which in turn reflects the light beams through an aperture in the cover portion of the housing member, the scan pattern scanning a bar code label on a merchandise item positioned on top of the housing adjacent the aperture. A collection system is mounted on the mirror member for generating electrical signals in response to detecting the reflected light beams from the scanned bar code label.
