Methods and systems for providing a learning path for an electronic learning system. The methods can include: retrieving learning objectives assigned to the learning path; for each learning objective, selecting resources assigned a relevance score satisfying a relevance threshold for that learning objective, the relevance score representing an estimated degree of correlation between that learning objective and the resource, and the relevance threshold indicating a minimum relevance score required for a resource to be selected; generating an initial learning path using the selected resources; identifying evaluation type resources which include an interaction for evaluating a proficiency of a user in relation to a subset of learning objectives; monitoring a feedback usage indicator for each evaluation type resource, the feedback usage indicator representing an amount of user interactions with that evaluation type resource; and updating the initial learning path to generate the learning path based on the feedback usage indicator.

The methods can include identifying a user profile associated with the user, each user profile including user interaction data representing an interaction by a respective user with one or more learning paths provided by the electronic learning system; detecting, from the user interaction data in the identified user profile, an evaluation request from the user in respect of a learning path, the evaluation request indicating the evaluation resource is to be provided and the evaluation request is associated with at least one resource in the learning path; and in response to detecting the evaluation request, generating the evaluation resource, otherwise, continuing to monitor the user interaction data, wherein generating the evaluation resource comprises selecting one or more evaluation items based on, at least, resource data associated with the at least one resource.

The methods can include: retrieving a set of learning objectives assigned to the user; retrieving the path data associated with the learning path defined for the user, the learning path including a series of actions in respect of one or more resources accessible via the electronic learning system and each action corresponds to at least one learning objective assigned to the user; receiving user response inputs from the user in respect of at least one learning objective; evaluating the received user response inputs to determine a competence level of the user in respect of the at least one learning objective, the competence level indicating a proficiency of the user with the at least one learning objective; and modifying the learning path for the user based on the competence level determined for the user.
