    Abstract: A slide bearing for an internal combustion engine includes a metal layer having an inner peripheral surface formed to extend along at least a part of a cylindrical shape, and a resin coating layer formed on the inner peripheral surface of the metal layer. The inner peripheral surface of the metal layer has annular or helical groove sections that extend in a generally circumferential direction of a cylindrical shape such that the inner peripheral surface has protrusion sections, which are arranged adjacent to each other in an axial direction of the cylindrical shape and which extend in the generally circumferential direction. The resin coating layer is formed to match shapes of the groove sections and the protrusion sections. t and Rpk satisfy the following relations: 1.0 μm≦t≦5.0 μm; and 0.06≦Rpk/t≦5.04, where t is an average coating thickness of the resin coating layer at positions different from crests of the protrusion sections; and Rpk is a reduced peak height of the resin coating layer.
