Abstract: A process for preparing a fluorination catalyst chromium oxyfluoride which comprises subjecting chromium fluoride to heat treatment at a temperature from 300* to 420* C. in the presence of oxygen and then subjecting the resulting product to heat treatment at a temperature from 500* to 700* C. in the absence of an active gas.
