Abstract: Provided is a powder containing particles of low molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene, wherein the powder contains a fluorine-containing compound having a hydrophilic group, and the content of the fluorine-containing compound having a hydrophilic group is 250 ppb by mass or less based on the powder, and wherein the powder has a specific surface area of 7 to 50 m2/g.
