Abstract: The invention relates to a connector for motor vehicles. By means of the invention it is possible to cause a pawl and a detecting device the position of this pawl to interact so as to block the displacement of this detecting device when it is displaced from its delivery position into its use position and when the pawl protrudes due to incorrect positioning of a contact or a contact carrier module. To this end, the detecting device blocks the pawl, for example by said pawl being subjected to shear, in the position protruding between two surfaces of the detecting device.
