Abstract: A valve timing controller includes a driving rotor, a driven rotor, a planetary rotor, a planetary carrier, and an elastic component to produce a restoring force biasing the planetary rotor to an eccentric side such that the driving rotor is inclined to the driven rotor. The driving rotor has an inclination angle θ1 relative to the driven rotor in a first inclination state where the driving rotor is in contact with the driven rotor on both sides in the axial direction. The inclination angle θ1 is smaller than an inclination angle θ2 in a second inclination state where the driving rotor is in contact with the driven rotor on both sides in the radial direction, and is smaller than an inclination angle θ3 in a third inclination state where the driving rotor is in contact with the camshaft on both sides in the radial direction.

Abstract: A bearing portion of a planetary rotatable body for providing bearing support in a thrust direction is defined as a planetary thrust bearing portion. A driving-side rotatable body or a driven-side rotatable body, which is configured to contact the planetary thrust bearing portion in the thrust direction, is defined as a specific rotatable body. A bearing portion of the specific rotatable body for providing bearing support in the thrust direction is defined as a specific thrust bearing portion. In a parallel state where the specific thrust bearing portion and the planetary thrust bearing portion are parallel to each other, the specific thrust bearing portion and the planetary thrust bearing portion contact with each other only on one of an eccentric side and a counter-eccentric side of the planetary rotatable body while the counter-eccentric side is opposite to the eccentric side.

Abstract: A valve timing adjustment device includes a drive-side rotating body that rotates in conjunction with a crankshaft, a driven-side rotating body that rotates integrally with a camshaft, a speed reduction mechanism that transmits rotation while allowing relative rotation between the drive-side rotating body and the driven-side rotating body. Abstract: An Oldham coupling includes: a driven Oldham flange that is formed at a drive-side rotor; a drive Oldham flange that is formed at a planetary rotor; and an Oldham intermediate that is configured to synchronize rotation of the driven Oldham flange and rotation of the drive Oldham flange. A thrust section is formed at a rotor plate portion which is a portion other than the Oldham coupling. The thrust section is configured to limit tilting of the planetary rotor relative to the driven Oldham flange when the thrust section contacts the planetary rotor in an axial direction. There is satisfied a relationship of θ2>θ1 where: θ1 is a maximum tilt amount of the planetary rotor relative to the driven Oldham flange; and θ2 is a maximum tilt amount of the planetary rotor in a clearance formed at the Oldham coupling.

Abstract: A planetary rotor includes: a planetary gear engaged with a driving rotor and a driven rotor on an eccentric side; and a single sequence type planetary bearing having an outer ring held by the planetary gear, an inner ring supported by a planetary carrier in the radial direction and receiving a restoring force from an elastic component, and a plurality of spherical rolling elements interposed between the outer ring and the inner ring. The outer ring is arranged to form a rolling contact part in contact with the spherical rolling element on the eccentric side, with a contact angle to a specific side in the axial direction. A thrust-bearing part where the driving rotor is supported by the driven rotor on the specific side and on the eccentric side is located closer to a rotation center line of the driven rotor than the rolling contact part is.

Abstract: A single-row planetary bearing includes a single row of spherical rolling elements between an outer ring and an inner ring. A planetary gear is supported by a thrust bearing portion and is radially supported by the outer ring. The planetary gear performs a planetary motion while engaging with a driving rotor and a driven rotor at an eccentric side to adjust a rotational phase between the driving rotor and the driven rotor. The thrust bearing portion supports the planetary gear that is tilting with respect to the revolution centerline. The planetary gear has a recessed portion opened toward the thrust bearing portion. When the rotational phase is adjusted to a specific phase, the recessed portion is positioned at an anti-eccentric side opposite to the eccentric side with respect to a rotation centerline of the planetary gear.
