Abstract: An armature includes a multiphase stator winding assembly that includes multiphase stator windings. Each of the multiphase stator windings includes a plurality of winding segments. Each of the winding segments includes a conductor. The conductor of each of the winding segments of each of the multi-phase windings is wound along an armature core while being engaged with a corresponding at least one of first protrusions and a corresponding at least one of second protrusions, and extending along one of radially inner and outer peripheral surfaces of the armature core. The first protrusions extend axially from a first end plate of the armature core, and the second protrusions extend axially from a second end plate of the armature core.
