Abstract: An energy conversion system includes an energy converter, a cold generator, and a liquid water obtainer. The energy converter is configured to convert energy of a source from one form to another form and generate heat and water vapor. The cold generator is configured to generate cold using the heat generated by the energy converter. The liquid water obtainer is configured to condense the water vapor using the cold to obtain liquid water. Accordingly, the water vapor generated from the energy converter can be cooled efficiently. Therefore, efficiency in obtaining the liquid water can be improved compared with a case where the water vapor is cooled by open air.

Abstract: In an adsorber, a sintered body, which is formed by sintering metal powder particles, is joined to an outer surface of a heat medium tube, in which heat medium flows. An adsorbent is held by the sintered body. A groove is formed in an outer surface of the heat medium tube, and a groove is formed in an inner surface of the heat medium tube.

Abstract: An adsorption core has (i) a heat medium tube in which a heat medium flows and (ii) an adsorption agent that adsorbs a fluid in a vapor phase outside of the heat medium tube when being cooled by the heat medium and desorbs the absorbed fluid when being heated. The heat medium tube has (i) a core member that is made of metal having a higher hardness with respect to copper and (ii) a covering layer that is made of copper and covers an outer surface of the core member. A sintered body of a copper powder and the adsorption agent is provided in a peripheral portion of the heat medium tube. The copper powder and the heat medium tube are metallically coupled with each other. Accordingly, stiffness of the heat medium tube can be higher while improving a heat transfer performance between the heat medium tube and the adsorption agent.

Abstract: An adsorber includes: a closed container in which an adsorption medium is included; an adsorption part that is provided in the closed container and includes an adsorbent, which adsorbs and desorbs the adsorption medium; and an evaporation/condensation part that is provided in the closed container and that exchanges heat between the adsorption medium and a heat exchanging medium, which is supplied from outside of the closed container, to evaporate and condense the adsorption medium. The evaporation/condensation part includes a heat transfer part that transfers heat of the heat exchanging medium to the adsorption medium. The heat transfer part is capable of holding the adsorption medium, an amount of which is capable of being adsorbed by the adsorbent of the adsorption part.

Abstract: An adsorber includes: a heat-medium pipe through which a heat medium flows; an adsorbent layer having an adsorbent that adsorbs a vapor-phase refrigerant located outside the heat-medium pipe by being cooled by the heat medium, and further desorbs the adsorbed refrigerant by being heated; and a heat-transfer member that transfers heat between the heat-medium pipe and the adsorbent. In the adsorber in which the heat-transfer member and the adsorbent are integrally formed, an adsorbent filling ratio ϕ is set at 70% or less when the adsorbent filling ratio ϕ is defined as a value obtained by dividing a filling density ρ of the adsorbent filled in the adsorbent layer by a true density ρabs of particles of the adsorbent. For example, the adsorber may be suitably used for an adsorption refrigerator.
