    Abstract: A projection type display device configured to display an image on a window while also providing a view through the window. The projection type display device has a plurality of reflection portions arranged on a windshield for reflecting an image light that is projected from an image projection device and displaying a superposed display image onto the windshield. Further, since (i) the plurality of reflection portions are arranged on the window along a lateral direction with a lateral interval interposed at positions between two reflection portions, (ii) a lateral width of each of the plurality of reflection portions is less than the minimum human pupil diameter, and (iii) the lateral interval between the two reflection portions is equal to or greater than the lateral width of the reflection portion, the view of the vehicle occupant through the windshield is also sufficiently ensured.

    Abstract: A road surface display device mounted to an own vehicle includes: a road surface image control portion generating a road surface image which is displayed on a road surface ahead of the own vehicle and includes images each indicating an expected arrival zone where the own vehicle is expected to arrive at an expected arrival time; a detection portion obtaining display states of a different vehicle image, which is a road surface image displayed by a different vehicle, and an own vehicle image, which is the road surface image displayed by the own vehicle, and detecting a presence of overlapping or proximity between the two images; and a display adjustment portion, when the presence of overlapping or proximity is detected, displaying an image indicating a shorter expected arrival time in a region where the presence of overlapping or proximity is detected on the road surface.

    Abstract: A projection type image display device includes a processor having a measuring part for performing a three-dimensional measurement of an A-pillar and a projection range controller for controlling a projection range of an image light, which is matched to an A-pillar surface based on a result of the three-dimensional measurement. Thus, the projection of an image onto the A-pillar surface by the projection type image display device is easily performed regardless of whether the A-pillar surface is a two-dimensional flat surface or a three-dimensional surface. The projection type image display device also directs a retro-reflective component in a reflected image light away from a driver's seat based on a positioning of an image projection device. Speckled uneven image brightness on an image display surface is thereby prevented.
