Abstract: An object detection device has a transmitter that transmits a long pulse signal, in which a pulse width is longer than a predetermined time, as a transmission wave, the transmission wave being an ultrasonic wave; a receiver that obtains a received signal corresponding to a reflected wave reflected by an object of the transmission wave; a signal processor that obtains a fluctuation signal based on the received signal and detects the object based on the fluctuation signal, wherein the fluctuation signal is a signal corresponding to a composite wave generated when receiving the reflected wave and a wave which frequency is different from the reflected wave, or a signal generated by a phase change of the reflected wave when the distance to the object changes.
