Abstract: Novel and useful 4-amino-3,5,6-trichloropyridine compounds are disclosed wherein the 2- position of the pyridine ring carries a functionally substituted methyl group such as -CH2OH, -CH2Cl, CH2NH2, -CH2COOH, -CH2CN, -CH2OCH3, -CH2OC(O)CH3, -CH2OCONH2 and CH2OCH2COOH. The compounds of the invention are useful in a variety of pesticidal applications. They also have utility as intermediates in the preparation of other useful organic compounds.
