摘要： Serially transporting diskettes from a stack to at least one disk drive for recording of a selected program thereon and then transporting the diskettes to at least one output stack. Included is input hopper for receiving diskettes onto which the selected program is to be recorded in a disk drive mounted in substantial vertical alignment with said input hopper. In addition, there is means for extracting one diskette at a time from the input hopper, and transporting the diskette from the extraction means, away from the input hopper, redirecting the last edge of the diskette to leave the hopper means vertically toward the mouth of the disk drive, insertion therein and removal therefrom, and finally transporting it to an output stack.

摘要： A labeling apparatus is presented. The apparatus has a pair of stationary rollers. There is a gap between the rollers. An idler wheel is positioned opposite the stationary rollers to engage the object and hold it against the rollers. A floating pin is positioned between the rollers and the object. The pin diameter is larger than the roller gap. A continuous web of labels is threaded through the gap and around the pin. When the web is advanced, the tension forces the web and pin against the rollers causing the rollers to rotate in the opposite direction, thus driving the engaged object forward. As the web advances, the label does not follow the diameter of the pin and is separated from the web and applied to the object. An object supply hopper has separating means for providing individual objects to the rollers. The entire apparatus is angled relative to the horizontal plane. The hopper is oblique to the plane of the object.

摘要： An apparatus and method for the efficient simultaneous loading and unloading a plurality of compact disc media into and out of a plurality of recording bays. The present invention provides a plurality of two position platters that allow the simultaneous rotation of a plurality of compact discs along horizontal planes defined by the platters above compact disc drive input trays for the transfer of the compact discs to a plurality of compact disc drives using a plurality of associated compact disc lifting devices that lift the compact discs off the platters allowing the platters to rotate along a central axis and then distributes the plurality of compact discs into the compact disc trays. One platter is used for each compact disc recording or writing drive. Loading and unloading of each disc platter is sequentially performed by pick and place systems while the compact disc writer drives are operating, thus eliminating delays in sequential loading and unloading while maximizing recording time per disc recording or writer drive.
